A veneer is a custom-made porcelain shell that is applied directly to the teeth. Porcelain’s natural translucency truly mimics natural tooth structure and gives your smile believability. Porcelain veneers are so life-like that your teeth look like the ones you always wished you were born with - and they don't stain like bonding does.
Completely transforming your smile takes just two office visits. The focus of the first visit is to make room for the laminates in your mouth, so the tooth structure is slightly reduced by less than one millimeter. At the second visit, the new veneers are fitted, and cemented onto your teeth with a composite resin that bonds the veneers to tooth structure. Both visits are performed under local anesthesia and during the period between the first and second visit the patient wears temporary veneers, which enables the patient to function in their daily life.
Porcelain veneers can correct a multitude of imperfections, including changing the color and shape of teeth, making crooked teeth appear straight, correcting gaps and spaces between teeth, and making the arch wider (which creates a fuller smile, by giving greater support to the lips and cheeks.)
